walk

I think it’s fair to say that mum and I are going through a period of adjustment with our new “lead only” walks. As I mentioned the other day, due to my advancing years, I am going a bit deaf and so can’t always hear when mum or dad shout me back. Mum reckons that this means that I might not be safe and that I might get lost

Soooo, from now on, unless I am in an enclosed space, mum and dad are just going to walk me on my lead. It’s not too bad as when we go on the field, we used my extendable lead (shown below):

This does mean that whilst I don’t get complete freedom, I still get to have a sniff around – Woof Woof Woof. The only problem I can see so far, is my penchant for zig zag walking. What I mean, is that I like to sniff a bit on the left and then a bit on the right and then a bit on the left again…. So I suppose, now that I am on the lead,  there is potential for mum, my lead and I getting a bit twisted… oops  Still, I guess it’s better to be a bit twisted than lost, innit xxx

Oh my goodness me, I am one TIRED old dog!! Mum and I have just come back from a mini-adventure. We were a bit tired of our normal walks, so decided to get the bus into St Helens and then walk home, and then it exactly what we did! :)

I am very used to public transport and things now, so it was no bother and I rode that bus like a professional. The lady I sort of sat next to, told mum she had dogs at home and (as usual), I got tickles all the way to St Helens. Woof Woof.

Once we got off the bus, we just had a nice trot home and we even stopped half way so that mum and I could both have a drink. Happy Days xxx

p.s. I walked over 3 miles today…. not bad for an old timer… :P

Well today has been a fun day as I have been for a lovely little/massive walk with mum & dad. We went for a little walk to “the sign and back” which is a great walk of just under 4 miles that takes us along the canal to Newton-le-Willows and back. We were out about an hour and a half and I was POOPED when we got back.

I have to admit that I have slept most of the day and I think my age is finally catching up with me – well I am 13 you know. Every time dad goes out for a run, I get excited thinking that I might be able to go with him, but the truth is, I am not sure I could keep up anymore….

We have also had some slightly rubbish news this week as Great Grandma Jessie had to go the hospital and the news wasn’t great……lots more trips to the hospital mum says and maybe even another operation… yuk.  I am sure that the lovely doctors at Whiston Hospital will look after her though – they had better do, she is ace. x

Right then, off to watch Sherlock with dad… see if I can guess who dunnit.

Wowee, mum & I have been on SUCH a windy walk this morning, it nearly blew us away! I LOVED it though :-) we met lots of doggies and lively humans and I’m officially pooped!

We are also tres excited as 7 weeks today, mum & dad get married – yippee!!!

So let’s recap…..

Friday:  2 x Walks with Dad (one long one, one short one)

Saturday: Walk with mum (longish)

Sunday: Walk with mum & dad (long)

Monday: Shattered.

I’m not complaining though, I love a good walk and it at least stops me getting stressed. I am excited though as it’s Halloween today and that means we have chocolate in the house… Woof Woof… wonder how much I can snaffle before mum & dad get home? *ssshhhh*

p.s. mum and dad went out for lunch yesterday with all dad’s family and guess what??? Dad’s lovely family got him a card and some fab chocolate as a prize for releasing his game “Super Smoothies” on the App Store. Me likey.

Snake

Mum, Dad and I went for a great walk this morning down by the canal near our house. But as you can see from the photo we nearly had a big old fright.

When mum saw this on the ground she shrieked and jumped back and dad looked as though he had seen something scary too.

Let’s be honest, you think we saw a snake don’t you…. dont you?!

Well actually, it was just a piece of metal from a bike or something, but let me tell you – we had to have a woofly good luck to make sure. Phew. x

Oh wow, what a great Sunday we are all having!! Woof Woof. Liverpool have just been Manchester United 3-1 and this makes dad very happy and mum has just made coffee and walnut cakes so big smiles all round. ♥

But you may be wondering why this post is called 6 from 10.. well it’s because mum and dad have walked 10 miles today as part of their Shine Training and I managed to walk the first 6 miles with them… don’t worry, they didn’t just abandon me!!!! They were ingenious as  they did a walk that meant we walked sixmiles and then we somehow arrived back at our house. were Mum and dad dropped me off, fed me and left me  to have the tiniest kip whilst they went off to finish their walk. Lovely jubbly.

Wow, mum and I rock!! We have just come back from our 5 mile training walk which saw us going to Carr Mill Dam and back. We met lots of doggies and even stopped for a chill when we got to the dam itself. The whole thing was great… mum had her rucksack on and I was running around like a loon, sniffing and playing…… gotta love a bit of Shine Training. Woof Woof

Mum and I

Mum and I

SOOOOO mum and I have been hitting the Shine Training trail again this week, not massive mileage but still, we are on it.

Also this week mum has been to Preston for a worky thing and dad tried unsuccessfully to get a suit for Auntie Jenny’s wedding. Mum is also a little nervous as she’s having a little operation on Saturday – don’t worry it’s nothing serious and I’ve promised to look after her :-)

Right then, just a quick one tonight and now I’m off to watch a bit of Masterchef x
