training

Oooeeee, what a great day, my pack and I have just come back from a 5 mile training walk to Carr Mill Dam and back. It’s AGES since we last went and we were pleased to see that the council have done loads to improve the footpath, benches and sign posting. I loved it..

We met some interesting humans and doggies out for their Sunday walk, and even one little girl that was desperate to stroke me – twice  There were spaniels, Dalmatians, small dogs, large dogs and even some interesting people playing Pooh sticks at the dam. We did a total of 5½ miles and it was great, mum and dad stopped about half way round to give me a drink and otherwise it was just non-stop sniffing and messing about.

We even called at our brilliant local pet shop called Clipsley Pets and Aquatics. One of the lovely owners Karon told me about her lovely new puppy called Ruby and Ruby even has her very own blog. How cool is that eh? Woof Woof.

I have to say though, nearly 2 hours walking at my age!!! I think I deserve a sleep don’t you. xxx

Morning dogbloggers :)

I am wondering what is going on today as dad had to come and spend the night on the couch again and I didn’t got for my walk this morning…. *humpf* Although, dad was doing some pretty serious coughing when he came downstairs and he did look a little tired this morning after a less than restful sleep. He has been poorly for nearly 2 weeks now and mum said that if he is still poorly after the weekend, he might have to go and see the vet – or whoever it is that humans see.

I do feel a little bit sorry for dad, it’s almost like he is having to bark every 2 or 3 minutes and it sounds like he has a fur ball or something. Maybe he was a cat in a previous life? *shudders* YUK!! Anyway, it might not be so bad that I didn’t got for a walk this morning as mum said we are doing a training walk when her and dad get home from work. So if we do about 4 miles, that means we will be walking for about an hour and a half or so. BRILLIANT!! Woof Woof!

Tomorrow, Grandma Barbara and Grandad Wack are coming for a posh dinner party and then on Sunday we are going to Delamere Forest to do another training walk. 5 miles in the forest… happy days 8)

Well today has been a day so far of a wonderful walk in the rain followed by a snotty dip in the bath. Know if you have read dog blog before, or even if you have ever met a dog, you will know that we HATE baths, but I couldn’t really complain today as I was properly dirty!

Our walk was part of mum’s Shine marathon training and our plan was to do 4 miles, and that is exactly what we did. It was VERY VERY VERY wet, but mum and dad got all their right gear on and I basically just got my lead on and off we went. :) Everywhere was muddy and around these parts they call it “slutchy”. Woof Woof.  Within minutes my whole legs, paws and belly were covered in mud and we realised that it was pointless trying to avoid muddy puddles as they were everywhere!!!

We met a few nice doggies on our walk, including a family of 3 black and white dogs which included a 3 legged doggy and a little puppy – who came to say hello… SO CUTE!!!

I did have to have a bath when we got back, but dad is very gentle and lovely to me, so it wasnt too bad and I did get to have a big feed when we had finished… time for a zzz now I think whilst dad watches Liverpool batter Everton!!!

So this morning, mum got up when it was still dark we started her Marathon training. Just a “gentle” 3 mile walk, except gentle it was not! Actually, it was VERY VERY windy, which of course I love, but mum was laughing as she could hardly walk in it at all.

It was great fun though and it took us just under an hour to complete. I also don’t want to go into too much gross detail, but mum said that she is never feeding me corned beef again… the ramifications at the other end, she says, are just not worth it.

Anyway, the walk was good and mum is now on her way to the full 26.2 miles… I am really looking forward to our training walks and even more so when dad joins us. Woof Woof.

p.s. do you like my photo…. I know which side my bread is buttered… or where to sit ready for food when we get back from a walk….  even though mum was still taking her shoes and coat off in the other room  ;)

Woof Woof Woof Woof

You see, the thing is, I love lying on mum & dad’s things – it doesn’t matter  what it is – towel, shoe, cushion and in this case – mum’s damp t-shirt from her wet run the other day. My mum decided to leave the t-shirt on the floor for a while to see how many different ways I could invent to lie on it - turns out the magic number is 9 :-) Brilliant xx

Yesterday, was Grandad Dixon’s birthday and I stayed at home minding the den whilst the rest of my extended pack took him out for tea at Lymewood Farm. Mum said that everyone  had a lovely time and eat as much carvery as we could manage – sounds yummy.

Anyway, today mum & I went for a run and although it was warm and mum said I was a mithering so and so – I loved it.

Happy woofly days… xxx

How fantastic am I feeling at the moment? Errrr very brilliant thank you very much :-)

My pack and I haven’t been for a run for 13 days (not that I’m counting), but we have been tonight. There have been many reasons why we haven’t been – snow, bad weather, stressyness and general tiredyness and arsed issues – but we hope they are all behind us now and we can get our training back on track. “Training for what?” I hear you bark, well mum & dad are running the Manchester 10k on May 16th and as this is only 2 months and 13 days off…..

Actually, why not support them by posting a comment on the bottom of this blog*

So, back to our run.We did about 25 minutes to break us in gently and even though it was cold, I got a bit of off lead action in the park and to be honest, my mum and dad are right slackers as they seemed to be out of puff at the end whereas I was fine! See the evidence of the three of us post run below….

Also, mum made these @aleksk I see your sesame snaps and raise you homemade... @gi... on Twitpic for work and it’s all dad and I can do not to steal them away and scoff them all – in fact, I think they might be going to bed soon ;-) Don’t tell anyone will you xx
