snow

Boy oh boy, I am shattered and excited at the same time. We have just come back from a lung busting, paw freezing, cuddle inducing walk in the snow. It started snowing at about 17:30 last night and it was still snowing on and off when we got up this morning.

So… there was only one thing to do – go out and ENJOY OURSELVES..

The snow was so deep, it was up to my belly, but I didn’t care.. I just ran around from tree to tree, from mum to dad and back again and I met lots of waggy friends as well. There seemed to be lots of other doggies and their owners out today, some with coats, but some totally au naturel like me.

If you ever get the chance, you should try to eat some snow… scoop it up with your mouth and it’s very refreshing and tastes great, I LOVE IT!!♥  Just take a look:

image71331333.jpgWell mum is excited, dad is miffed and I want to go out & play in it! Yes, the snow is back in Haydock!!!! Woofly Woof Woof xx

Hello there you lot! What a woofly day it is today. It’s lovely and bright and even though its a bit cold, it’s still ace weather for walking in – if you have the right equipment ;-) (more about that later). It hasn’t snowed in Haydock since Tuesday (5/01/2010)  but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere due to the overnight low temperatures.

So mum had girly belly waz this morning (don’t ask) so we all decided to go out for a lovely walk to take her mind off it. The other reason why we decided to go out was that mum has had some ice cleats delivered this morning!! Mum told me that ice cleats are like special spiky paws for human shoes which means that they don’t fall over in the ice and snow (like grandad). We had a lovely time on our walk and as you now by now – mum took millions of pictures… well a few anyway..

As you can seem from the pictures, we encountered ducks on our walk. Dad was a bit mean to them as he kept throwing them snowballs – but they thought it was bread and kept diving towards them, thinking they were something to eat!!! Funny, but a bit mean… naughty daddy!

When we finally got home, we had been walking for just over an hour and noticed that there were big old icicles on the windows and gutters of our house – how magical is that. Woof Woof xxx

Tractor

So we are in our 3rd snow day and today is the first time mum has left the house and gone any further than our street. It turns our that most of Haydock is still fairly snowed in and mum said that Tesco (a big dog and human food shop) and the chemist (the human medicine shop) were just still treacherous and completely rubbish – so she just gave up and came back.

I think mum & dad are both going to try and go to work tomorrow so I guess we will just have to see how that goes. We did have a spot of excitement today when a gritter  and tractor turned up, which we thought might be here to dig us all out, but it turns out that they just came to sort the school out – oh well, back to dancing in ice!! Woof Woof.

Ok well, our plan for today was lamb hotpot with Grandma & Grandad Dixon & Gran Prescott. The problem was , that yesterday Grandad Dixon fell over on the ice and so today my mum & dad took him to A&E at Whiston Hospital :-( Mum said it was FULL of people with similar injuries :-(

It turns out Grandad has a twisted ankle and a suspected fractured knee! He’s got a massive splint & a fracture clinic appointment.

So after all that, mum & dad kept getting stuck on the icy (ungritted) roads, so had to dig a path out of the ice at Grandad Dixons and then again at home..

I know you are wondering where I was during all this – and the short answer is…. ASLEEP!!

Happy Boxing Day Everyone xx

p.s. wanna see the video that mum made of dad on her new video camera??

So I just thought I would jump onto dogblog to give you a snow update – basically, its snowing…. here is the scene out of mum’s window at work…

Snowman Ainscough

Snowman Ainscough

Hey there dog blog readers, Just thought I would show you the amazing snowman that my friends Ben, Alice & Jack Ainscough made this afternoon. Isn’t it brilliant! I think it is the best snowman that I have ever seen.

Thank you very much the Ainscough family ♥

Woof Woof!!!   xxx

I don’t know if you have noticed, but IT’S SNOWING!!!!! Not even messing about sleet rubbish, actually genuine snow!!! Mum was home from work slightly earlier than normal, so we went out on the field at the bottom of our road for a run about in the snow. I like LOVE the snow, it’s my second favourite kind of weather next to force 10 gales :-) See mine & mum’s pictures and our little video. Enjoy xx
