anglesey

Oh my goodness me, I can’t believe it!!! Mum has just told me that we are going to see Hazel, John and Indie on Anglesey this weekend and I can’t wait!! Woof Woof Woof. We have been there on holiday  a couple of times before and we have loved it every time.

I wonder where we will go this time? Maybe a beach, maybe a reservoir and maybe we will just relax in out cottage and chill out. Either way, I get to spend lots of lovely time with my pack – what’s not to like?! Woof Woof Woof.

p.s. dad has just told me that our cottage now has Wi-Fi – so I’ll be able to tell you all about my adventures every day ;)

Just a quick message to say hello and goodbye. We are off on our hollibobs today to Anglesey, which is a lovely island just off the coast of North Wales. I am very excited and can’t wait to go sniffing around Cefni Reservoir again!!!

See you in a week! xxxx

We have been officially back from Anglesey for a week & we have totally survived, just….

Tomorrow we are going to Delamere Forest and whilst dad is running 7 miles (in preparation for his trail race), I am going to do the 3 mile red route with mum. I think it might be quite warm tomorrow so I think mum & I might just walk and then get the picnicio ready for dad. Woof Woof!!

Awesome Sauce! Xx

image1885055394.jpgYes yes yes, we are still home and yes yes yes we are still depressed :-( Mum & dad have been out this afternoon to Auntie Jenny’s BBQ and it was MAD HOT apparently… phew, glad I stayed at home minding the den :-)

Tomorrow is Sunday and we are having a visit from Grandma Barbara and maybe Grandad Wack. We are going out to pick a Rose for mum as it’s her birthday on Tuesday (wink wink) – maybe dad and I know things that she does not *says no more* xx

Wowee  – we are back from our hollibobs and more than a little depressed :-( We had a brilliant time in Anglesey and we weren’t even out of the gate before dad suggested that we re-book again for next year!! He’s got my vote…. Well, just to show you all what we got up to, here is my Angelsey diary.. Enjoy xxx

Saturday – Day 1 – Off We Go then

So today we are going on our hollibobs and so mum & dad packed almost every thing we own into dad’s car and off we went to Anglesey. We had booked into a holiday cottage called The Dairy – which mum found on the website http://www.doanglesey.com. It took us just over 2 hours to reach The Dairy as we got stuck in a little bit of traffic en-route – but to be honest we were there in no time. We had a lovely warm welcome from Hazel (the owner) and were thrilled to find the cottage was just as stunning as the pictures on the website. Hazel showed us around and helped us settle in – she even told mum & dad about some local dog walks for me – Woof Woof. After we had unpacked everything (and when I say we – I think we all know I just went to sleep), mum & dad had some ham sandwiches and we all sat out on the patio at the back of the cottage… actually - do you want to see what the cottage looks like? See mum’s video:

Stunning no? Anyway, after the ham sandwiches we all went to the local wetlands nature reserve for a walk. It was only 5 minutes away from our cottage and we walked for about an hour. We would have walked longer, but silly mum forget her walking shoes and couldn’t cope with the stony paths in her rubbish “girl” shoes. *tuts*. Still the weather was great and I was poopped all the same when we headed back.  What a great start to the holiday. x

Sunday – Day 2 – Beach Bonanza

Well, what a funny night we had first of all – everyone was a bit hot and maybe because we were in strange beds etc, we had a bit of a restless night. In fact, dad had to get up at 2:00am to open the patio doors and let us all have a cooler… phew.

So after we got up and had had our croissants on the patio (oh yes), we went to Red Wharf Bay as lots of mum’s friends had recommend it. The beach itself was a little hard to navigate at first as it was quite stoney, mum’s girly shoes meant that she also struggled a bit, but it was OK in the end  and even though it was VERY windy – we had a nice walk… wanna see?

After our walk, we had lunch sat outside a lovely pub called The Ship Inn and it was SCORCHING hot. It was a bit too hot for me at first, but dad gave me a drink and I found a nice cool spot under the table whilst mum & dad had their lunch. I also met a couple of really brill puppies – one was a Weimaraner that cried every time it’s owner went to the bar!

So after lunch we hopped back into the car and went to Benllech Beach which is only a couple of miles away from Red Wharf Bay and we thought that this was a MUCH nicer beach. Mum said that there were huge parts of the beach that dogs are not allowed on, but if you walk along the coastal path for 5 minutes, it leads you to an ace part of the beach that is perfect for doggies and has no-one sunbathing that would mind me running around like a loon – Woof Woof.

As you know, I have got no interest in balls or sticks when mum & dad take me out on walks – much to my dad’s chagrin, so he was really REALLY pleased when an energetic black dog appeared on the beach and ran up to dad to play. The dog nudged it’s ball towards dad’s pocket and then dropped it on the sand for dad to throw it – dad was smiling all the way back to the car :-)

When we got back we just chilled out, before one last trot around the field which belongs to the owners of the Dairy. zzzz

Monday – Day 3 – The Day of 2 Walks

So when we are on hollibobs, I sleep in a different room than mum & dad, but at 6:00am this morning, I got bored of being on my own and started to cry and pretend I needed a wee. Mum had to get up and let me out —– so I had to do a 3 second tinkle just to try and cover my lie and then I did of course, get to sleep at the foot of mum & dad’s bed …. hehehehehe

After our croissants, mum & dad took me for a walk around the field which is full of very long grass. I have to “kangaroo jump” through the field as the grass is nearly as tall as me!!! In fact, I always get bits of grass stuck to my tongue as when I get hot and start to pant, it all goes in my mouth – yuk!!!

Anyway, we we came back from our walk and had a chill, I was chuffed and then disappointed as mum & dad put their shoes back on, but didn’t take me with them :-( They went into Llangefni for a wander around and had lunch at The Bull Hotel and then they went to the chemist to get mum some more anti-forshizzles (ask dad).

They did come home eventually and took me out for another walk – so it’s not too bad. I wonder what will happen tomorrow?

Tuesday – Day 4 – Not very good to very brill day

So this morning we decided to go to Beaumaris Castle and spend the day in Beaumaris generally. However, I am sorry to say that we found Beaumaris to be very UNFRIENDLY to dogs!! Actually, we got to see lots of dogs round and about, but here’s what we found:

  • Dogs are NOT allowed in Beaumaris Castle
  • Dogs are NOT allowed in any of the shops in Beaumaris
  • Dogs are NOT allowed on Beaumaris Beach
  • Dogs are NOT allowed in the park in Beaumaris – NOT EVEN ON A LEAD!!!

So we left…. but then we went to Llangefni and went to our very favourite chocolate shop called “DaDaDa” and bought some of their GORGEOUS chocolates and then after that we went to Cefni Reservoir. Mum had spotted this from the main road the other day, so we stopped the car and went to have a look round.

It was stunning so we went for a walk for about 40 mins, but it was mad hot so we we home and ate all the chocolate. However, I have just looked around The Dairy and I can’t find dad??? Oh, it’s OK, mum says he has gone back to Cefni for a run – he’s mad like that.  Great Stuff xx

Wednesday – Day 5 – England Day

What a fandabbyozzy day we have had today. We got up and had our croissants and then went into Llangefni to get mum some better walking shoes (she forgot hers remember?). We first went to Asda and mum & dad tied me up outside – I cried and cried as I didn’t like being left on my own – but eventually they came back – although still no shoes. Mum & dad walked into Llangefni town centre and even found time to do a silly video….

But then when we finished doing that, we got down to business and got mum some new walking shoes from Stead & Simpsons and then guess what….

We went back to Cefni Resevoir to do a really great walk. However, we only walked for  an hour as it was far too hot and right in the middle part of the day – which is the hottest. Mine (& mum’s) tongues were lolling to one side we were so hot, so we cut our walk short…. We did however, stop for a stone throwing competition.. wanna see?

Mum thinks she won, dad thinks he won – I personally just enjoyed getting my paws wet – it didn’t half cool me down.

After the walk we all came back to the Dairy whilst dad watched England play in the World Cup – England won apparently, but who cares ;-) None of this matters to me as I just slept for most of the time when we got back. However mum & dad (and me)  were enjoying our holiday so much,  that after tea, mum put some funny songs on her iPhone and we all had a dance around the kitchen. Happy days xxx

Thursday – Day 6 – Pamper Day

Hmpf – well it turns out I simply wasn’t invited out today. Mum & dad went to a hotel spa just up the road from where we are staying called Tre-Ysgawen Country House Hotel & Spa for a “Pamper Day”. This apparently means that they got to use:

  • The Gym
  • The Steam Room
  • The Sauna
  • The Pool (including poolside drinks)
  • The Jacuzzi

Plus they also got a two course lunch and a 1 hour pamper treatment each. Mum had a facial and dad had a full body massage. NO DOGS ALLOWED – *sulks*.

However, they were very very chilled when they got back and considering it’s our last night here, don’t look too sad. They said if anything it topped their time off in Anglesey and made it even more brilliant! xx

Friday – Day 7 – Going Home

Oh we are sad…. we are home. We had a brilliant time in Anglesey as The Dairy Cottage where we stayed and almost everywhere we visited was just amazing. We had glorious weather and we couldn’t have asked for much more. We can honestly recommend www.doanglesey.com as a place for dogs and their owners to stay as it’s not often you find somewhere SO dog friendly that is 5 star.

We will definintley go back to Wales & Anglesey in particular xxx Time for a zzz I think xxx

p.s. wanna see our photos….. see below and you’ll be right there with us Woof Woof

Menai BridgeOh my woofly goodness! Mum told me this morning that there are only 3 more sleeps until we go on hollibobs!!! Well I don’t quite understand that because EVERY day is like a hollibobs to me :-) Of course, I do have a part time job of guarding the den, but mum says I am next to useless at that as I didn’t even bark one time when some workmen were in the back yard and mum wasn’t expecting them…. oh well…

Back to the hollibobs…..  as I have blogged before, we are going to Capel Coch on the Isle of Anglesey, which is just off North Wales. We will have to cross the Menai bridge which links Angelsey to the mainland. I am very excited Woof Woof.  I wonder if Welsh dogs bark differently that English dogs….

There are some people that think a MOSI is a mosquito but my mum & dad told me yesterday that MOSI is The Museum of Science and Industry and it’s in Manchester!

I didn’t get to go of course because, unlike The Lake District, dogs aren’t really allowed anywhere like that - but my pack went with Grandma & Grandad Dixon and here are their photos:

 MOSI (2010)

I did mind the den though and that was cool. But…… I DID go out on Friday with mum & dad as we went to Trebaron Garden centre :-) We have been there a couple of times before, but this time however, the lady manager said that we weren’t really supposed to go in. :-( Apparently some naughty doggies have been peeing on the plants and scaring the chickens and so whilst they let me stay on Friday, it’s probably best if I don’t go again. Oh well.

I have had quite a quiet weekend actually and it’s been quite nice really  – dad has just taken me out for a a wee run around the field – which was aces and made me dead hot! Phew… xxx Only just under 3 weeks till our hollibobs and we can’t wait to go to Anglesey. Bring it on xx

So we are very excited here in my den- we have booked out hollibobs for this year! We are going to Anglesey and we are VERY excited.

We are going to stay in cottages which we found at http://www.doanglesey.co.uk and they look very lovely.

We are a bit giddy xx Woof Woof. We are going in June so it will be here  before I know it . :-)
