So if you were to think about the most superstar, world-class middle and long distance runners, I reckon you would think of Paula Radcliffe and Haile Gebrselassie, but you’d be wrong , very very wrong. The two bestest, wooffiest and fastest runners in the world are MY MUM & DAD!!! (Of course I could kick both their arses in a race, but we will let that go for now
)
My dad has been training SOOOOOO hard as he is taking part in a trail race in the Lake District on the 5th September which is a week on Sunday…. In fact, mum & I even went to surprise him the other week on one of his long runs..we laid in wait with a milky way and a big cheer….
Here I am cheering – I think he was made up:

I always go running with dad & mum in the winter as the weather is cooler and I don’t get too hot. In fact for the Manchester 10k they did in 2009, I trained with them nearly all the time - Woof Woof. You see the thing is too, my dad is a dead good runner and even when he decides not to go out running for a while, he just picks it straight back up and can run 3 miles without even catching his breath - how ace is that?!?!
Anyway, dad’s training starting informally whilst we were on holiday in Anglesey as he went for a run around Cefni Reservoir. But, since then he has STEAMED ahead and been running 3-4 times a week and is now like woofing lightening and as fit as a fiddle (or me). He has had poorly shins and had to cut back slightly at one point, but his ice packs and human medicine has meant he is race fit again and raring to go – I love my dad I do. ♥ So I am sure all you dogbloggers will help me wish him GOOD LUCK for his race which is just over 1 week away and I just hope we can contain our excitement till then…
Before I go though, its only fair to mention that my mum has been training too for a race both her and dad are doing on October 17th. Is a 10k race at Victoria Park in Southport for Cancer Research. She has been using something called MiCoach which she discovered after seeing this advert…
She figured that if it’s good enough for Jess Ennis, then it’s good enough for her. Woof Woof. She seems to be enjoying it too, so good on ya mum!
But dogbloggers, thats enough about them two, back to me……. erm….. I’ve done nowt…..erm….. I had a sleep……twice……erm…..
Night night then. xxxxxxxx
oh dog biscuits, I nearly forgot…. if you would be so lovely as to sponsor my mum to run, I would be very grateful and would give you a very special Peggy lick and I may even give you my paw – just click on this button – thank you xxx

Wow what a brilliant day! We have been up to the Lake District this afternoon to have a picnic with Auntie Jill as it’s hear birthday. We went to Brockhole Park, which is here:
It took us about an hour and a half to get there and then we met all of dad’s family and had lots of food and tickles and walks. Dad even had a game of tennis and footie with everyone and Auntie Alison & Uncle Patrick even had an ice lolly!
But my favourite part of the day was when Auntie Jill and Uncle Richard took me for a walk and I had a little paddle in Lake Windermere… it was ace. As you can see from mum’s photos, I love lounging around in the long grass – maybe I should have been born a cat?! EWWWWW NOOOOOO!!
Anyway, Happy Birthday Auntie Jill xxx Woof Woof.
Hello there! How’s it going? I am just resting at home after my walk with dad at 6:00AM this morning!!! It was dark when we went out, and light by the time we got back….. it was brilliant though.
Mum has just been telling me everything that is going on in the next month or so – I am positively woofing with excitement. It goes a little something like this:
- First, guess what, guess what…. we are going back to Center Parcs!!!!! If you have read my blog before you will know how much I love it and how giddy I get whenever we get to go….. Don’t tell anyone, but I think this is the thing I am the most excited about. Woof Woof!
- Second is that we get to go away for the weekend as it is mum & dad’s 6th anniversary. We are going to the Rusland Pool Hotel near Ulverston in the Lake District. I don’t know if there will be squizzers* there like there are at CP’s but I am sure I will get to go on loads of walks and spend time with mum & dad. Brilliant.
- The third thing that will happen in October (or maybe sooner – eek) is that my Auntie Jenny’s baby is due on the 24th and I will have a brand new cousin. I already have one cousin, Lola-Mai and she is ace, so I am sure baby Tilly-Rose will be just as lovely. Actually, if Tilly-Rose is anything like Lol-Mai when SHE was a baby – she will be a bit noisy but will always give me cuddles….. xx
- The fourth and final thing that we are expecting to happen in October is that my dad’s friend Chris is getting married and mum and dad are going to the wedding at night. Now I know that this is something that I am not allowed to go to – but mum very often makes me put things in dogblog that I don’t have a clue about – humans eh…..
So a lot to look forward too… what an exciting month!
Oh I can’t believe I almost forgot mum’s favourite silly day of the year…
HALLOWEEN!!!
Bye for now xxx

Weather in Ambleside
Heavy Rain
Rubbish! But mum, dad and I all know that both Auntie Jill and Auntie Alison would fight hell or high water to see us race, so we are going to get on our (new in dad’s case) waterproof coats and battle the elements. It will be an adventure – a wet adventure, but an adventure none-the-less.
On a separate note, mum is chuffed because two good things have happened today, firstly she got promoted and secondly Manchester voted NO to the congestion charge. I have NO idea what either of things are (as they don’t involve food or sniffing other dog’s bums) but mum seems pleased – all good for me treat-wise. Woof Woof!
Love
Peggy

Oh my goodness! What a fab day we have all day and I am knackered! As I told you last night, we have been up to the lakes today (me, mum & dad), specifically to Ambleside. It was a couple of hours in the car, but then we got out and ended up going to loads of nice places with fab smells and loads of other doggies.
The first thing we did when we go there was go to get dad his Christmas present, which was a new winter coat from mum. We went to a shop called Gaynor Sports which dad LOVED and he did indeed get himself a lovely red coat with lots of “indoor pockets”.. apparently, they are all important! Check out the pictures that mum took of us, he couldn’t wait till Christmas and starting wearing it straight away! Why not eh..
After we had got dad his coat, we met Auntie Ali and Uncle Patrick in Rothay Park and we all went for a lovely doggy walk.. check out the evidence below
- Auntie Alison & Uncle Patrick
- Dad & I
After that we went to the Chocolate shop and bought some choccies for later. We then went to Ali & Patrick’s hotel, it was called The Old Vicarage which was lovely. I met a new greyhound friend called Jake and we all sat in front of a lovely log fire and had a cup of tea. Daddy even had jam tart… I could have stayed there all day, but eventually we had to go as mum and dad are picking up Auntie Jill from the airport later, so off we went. I slept most of the way in the car on the way home, but to keep themselves amused, mum & dad made a video.. check it out.
Off for another sleep now, I’ve had the best day…. I suspect so have mum & dad (especially as dad met an Alaskan Malamute called Nanuk!)
Bye for now

Hi there
Well it’s bedtime for me and mum has just told me that we are going to the Lake District tomorrow to get dad his Christmas present. I am SO excited, I can’t sleep. Mum says we are going to Ambleside and that it might be dead cold, but its OK as I’ve got my very own fur coat. Admittedly there are still some patchy bits from my injury, but who cares?!?
I’ll let you know tomorrow how we get on.
Bye for now
Peggy
