Aww…dogbloggers, guess what I got today from Grandma & Grandad Dixon.. a lovely card! ♥ Wanna see?

Envelope.jpgCard-Front.jpgStamp.jpgCard-Inside..jpg

They got me this as grandad said “Peggy is always in the wars” – which mum says means I am always injuring myself :-( I think they felt bad for me as I had such a rubbish week last week and I was feeling a little blue…..

BUT, I have been having two walks a day for nearly a week now and I feel much better… BRING IT ON….

By the way, Thank you very, very much Grandma & Grandad Dixon for the very lovely card – It was a such a surprise and I was dead chuffed when I saw it. Woof Woof!!

p.s. my mum took a rubbish photo, but my card had a special doggy stamp on it for the value of 1 chew!!! HOW cool is that?!?

Peggy Broken ToeI am feeling a bit sorry for myself today as I have re-injured my poorly paw. :-( I went as usual yesterday to doggy creche and I felt a bit scared again and tried biting my kennel wire and clawing at it – which is how I hurt my paw again.

I am limping and mum and dad think I might have hurt my nose too, as it’s a bit swelled. Mum says I am “In the wars” and is worried about me. I don’t always know why I do it, but I really do miss mum and dad when they aren’t here. It’s not that I don’t like doggy creche, but I would just rather be with my pack.

I am off to the vets tonight yet again, so our lovely vet Anna can have a look at me. Mum says I just need to chill out, otherwise they might have to get me mits and a muzzle – just to stop me hurting myself. :-( *whimpers*

Oh well, another day, another trip the vets…… *sniff*

vetsWell dogbloggers, as I reported yesterday, I have hurt my paw :-( Mum has had the day off work and just taken me to the vets and our lovely vet Anna has said that I have either sprained the joint in my toe or it is broken. Anna said that she wasn’t going to x-ray it as it costs money and there would be not a huge amount they could do if it confirms the break and it will heal naturally.

Ho hum, so I will have to limp around for a little longer and take the anti inflammatory drugs that Anna gave me. Still, it’s nice that mum is at home.

p.s. don’t tell mum, but even with a (suspected) broken toe, I can still jump over the baby gate….. here is an example of my earlier work:

Ambleside

Ambleside

Hi there

Well it’s bedtime for me and mum has just told me that we are going to the Lake District tomorrow to get dad his Christmas present. I am SO excited, I can’t sleep. Mum says we are going to Ambleside and that it might be dead cold, but its OK as I’ve got my very own fur coat. Admittedly there are still some patchy bits from my injury, but who cares?!?

I’ll let you know tomorrow how we get on.

Bye for now

Peggy

Well, I am almost no longer a poorly puppy.  Just check me out….

Everyone is dead pleased with me, mum & dad are both fully back to work and I can go for a walk again!! Best of all…… NO CONE!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am about that. It means I can go back in my dog crate again and in my special corner by the side of the couch in the living room. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice on my blanket under the dining table, but there’s no place like your crate now eh. Now then, do you thnk it would be too soon to persuage mum to let me run myself daft at Delamere yet? ;-)

Mummy is very pleased with me. We had a bit of wobble when some of my stitches “popped” and my skin died around my wounds, but everything (whilst still a little grotty) is slowly but surely healing up. However I am royally sick of the cone they make me wear. My mum says I have not sense of spacial awareness and therefore keep banging into things.  They did try to take me for a small walk today, but when I tried to sniff the floor, I just kept scraping leaves into it. Mum and dad have gone back to work sort-of, but they are workin shorter hours to make sure I am OK. Grandma Dixon and Lola-Mai have even been into see me during the day! As you can see from below, even thought I hate the cone, I look pretty cool in it!

I’ve had my chest drains out!! I’ve been to the vets again this afternoon and they took out the chest drains. It only hurt a little bit and the vet says that I am healing up a little bit. Mum was telling me today that she has emailed St Helens council and copied the St Helens Star in, in the hope that they remove whatever it was that did this to me from the path at Sankey Valley. Lets hope they do something. Here is a little photographic update of how it looks now…

Hi there to everyone that reads Peggy’s blog. I am sorry that it’s me writing today, but  Peggy can’t manage it at the moment as unfortunately she has been quite badly injured. She was out for a walk yesterday in Carr Mill Dam when she spotted some squirrels. She went chasing after them and  something cut her quite badly on her side (we are not sure what exactly). Michael had to wrap her in his jumper and carry her from where they were to the Huntsman in Haydock (about 1.5 miles) and eventually he managed to get a lift to the vets from my uncle. The vets in Church Road (SA & LR Jones) are nothing short of amazing and they immediately operated on her to sew her back together.

We have had something of a traumatic night as Peggy has been in a lot of pain and discomfort. She has two massive cuts on her side and looks a little like Frankenstein’s monster! She has chest drains in as well to stop pools of infections forming and we are just keeping a close eye on her. For those of you who can bear it, here are the initial pictures:

Thank you for all the people that have been so kind and send lovely wishes…..

I’ll keep you updated and give Peggy a cuddle from all of you.

Love

Gill
