So we are very excited here in my den- we have booked out hollibobs for this year! We are going to Anglesey and we are VERY excited.
We are going to stay in cottages which we found at http://www.doanglesey.co.uk and they look very lovely.
We are a bit giddy xx Woof Woof. We are going in June so it will be here before I know it .
Good afternoon dogbloggers, Peggy’s mum Gill here. I thought I would post a little information about Center Parcs as I have had a couple of emails about going on holiday there from people who read Peggy’s blog. If there is anything I haven’t answered below, please email me peggy@haydockdogblog.co.uk and I will do my best find out for you.
Q. Can I take dogs to Center Parcs?
Yes, we have taken Peggy 6 times now and have loved it every time.
Q. How much is it to take a dog and can I take more than 1?
Yes, you can take up to 2 dogs and it is £55 to take 1 and £80 to take 2*.
Q. Are there special villas for dogs?
Yes, all the dog villas are in the same areas grouped together but not separated from the non dog villas. They are only special in that dogs are allowed.
Q. Can my dog be let off the lead at Center Parcs?
No, to protect the safety of both your dog and the extensive wildlife in the forest, dogs must be kept on a lead. However there are a couple of “dog exercise areas” usually quite close to the dog villas which are small fenced off areas of the forest. You are encouraged to take your dog there, as they can go off lead whilst they do their business.
Q. Can I take my dog around the Center Parcs Village and into public areas?
Yes, dogs are welcomed in the public areas and on the extensive footpaths, usually by both staff and other guests. They are welcomed in all outdoor areas and especially to sit outside the many cafes and eateries that CP’s has to offer. The cafes usually have patio heaters – so if the summer doesn’t join us again this year – you won’t be too cold. Unfortunately, dogs are not usually allowed in indoor areas.
Q. Can I buy pet food whilst at Center Parcs?
The Parc Market is the village shop and usually has an extensive stock of anything and everything you might need for your stay – including the main brands of dog food (Pedigree Chum etc)
Q. Do Center Parcs provide any other dog facilities, i.e. dog blanket or bowls?
No, but there are extra blankets and bowls as part of the villa facilities, so you could use them.
Q. Just in case, is there a Vet nearby?
Certainly at Sherwood Forest, there is a brilliant vet within 1.5 miles of the village, but the staff on the information desk are more than happy to help with all these types of enquiries.
Overall, I find Center Parcs a very lovely place to take a dog for a holiday and that is why we keep going back. It is one of the few places I have been where the customer service is exceptional and the staff give you the genuine impression that nothing is too much trouble. I can highly recommend it. What a rollercoaster of a day so far!! You know how I told you that first we were going to Center Parcs next week and then we weren’t and we were SO disappointed.
Well mum looked for ages to find us somewhere else to go as very short notice and eventually found a cottage in Ffestiniog called “The Stables”. She tried to book it yesterday, but we only got confirmation this morning and guess what…. NOW WE ARE GOING ON HOLIDAY!!!
This is where we are going…
and it must be a good thing as mum has changed from a grumparella to a giddy kipper! Brilliant xx
I will of course keep you all updated to let you know how it goes.

What a lazy day I have had today with Mum… she has been working from home today and I have been making hanging out with her. She didn’t feel very well this morning so I was really good and left her alone for a bit, but she felt much better by lunchtime so I was allowed in the living room with her.
This afternoon she has been working hard and steam has been coming off her fingers on the laptop…. she must be tired! If MY paws had to do that much typing I think they might drop off
It’s not long now until we go on our holidays to Bigbury-on-Sea and even though we have never been before, I am sure it will be fantastic. It’s just mum, dad and I going which means we have have lots of dog walks, ice creams and lazy days…. we won’t be too bothered if it rains, but hopefully it will be a little bit sunny.
Oh I am SO fed up. Today is the day that we have come home from our lovely holidays
No more squizzers, no more forest, no more DEFCON1!! Well not for while anyway. We have just arrived home and both mum and dad are a bit down at being back in not-so-sunny Haydock. Oh well, if you want to ready my little diary from our holidays, follow the links below for the daily blog entries and then of course all our photos are in the gallery below… Happy reading Woof Woof!!! xx

Happy New Year from Sherwood Forest!! Last night was just magical as we went to the lake in the middle of the forest to watch the firework display. Well, when I say magical, I actually mean terrifying and horrendous as I am really scared of fireworks and they make me cry and want to run away. But mum & dad looked after me and we all stayed cuddled together whilst they were going off. We weren’t actually out that long as it was cold, (about 20 minutes), then they took me to the “dog bog” and then we all went home.
This morning we had a little lie in and didn’t get up till after 10! How lazy is that eh. Then mum and I had a walk to the village square parc market for brunch. She took me to the dog toilet and I had lots of sniffs and “tinkles” as mum calls them.
Mum & dad went out for a bit this afternoon, but then they came to get me and we all went for a lovely walk to the Country Club. Check out our videos – “Dog Blog on Tour”.
It’s our last full day today, as we have to be out of the villa by 10am tomorrow. We have had a woofly time and I am really glad we came. Mum has put something that smells nice in the oven for tea and I am going for a “zzzzzz”!
Gotta love CP’s, it’s the best!!!!

Squizzer Watch
Can you believe it, its New Years Eve and yet another freezing day here at Centre Parcs, in the middle of Sherwood Forest. We all had a lovely nights sleep and woke up this morning to freezing fog! It was so cold this morning that mum didn’t even take me to the “Dog bog”, instead she just let me out at the back of our villa for a wee. That’s a bit cheeky as they are not strictly speaking, supposed to do this, but in such tricky conditions, needs must!
After breakfast, mum & dad went off to the Aqua Sana, which apparently is a spa-type thing with an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool and lots of saunas and relaxation rooms. They love it and go every year. I spent the time at home totally on DEFCON1 again, looking out for all and every type of wildlife that live in Sherwood Forest. Love it!
This afternoon when mum & dad came back, they put a log on the fire, turned the heating up and all had a little sleep. We have all just had chicken for tea and as it’s New Years Eve, we are all going to watch a DVD until about 11:45 then go to the lake to watch the fireworks at midnight.
I’ve had a good year all in all, well apart from my injury, but it’s been brill and I can’t wait to see what happens next…..maybe sausages, who knows??

Dad Bowling
It has been bloomin FREEZING today! Really, really cold brrrrrr Even I thought it was cold this morning when we all went to the country club for breakfast. The walk up there is about 10 minutes and that was great as I got to have lots of sniffs and stuff, but when we got there it was a different story. Now for some silly reason I am not allowed inside cafes, so we have to sit outside. It’s OK for mum & dad as they get to keep all their winter clobber on and sit underneath the patio heater, whereas I had to sit on the cold floor. I was OK for a bit, as dad was feeding me secret sausages
, but after a while, I started to shiver and shake :-( So mum and dad finished their food quick and we all went for another long walk to warm ourselves up.
This afternoon, mum & dad went ten-pin bowling (I am informed by mum, that dad totally kicked her ass!) and I spent the afternoon on DEFCON1 at the patio doors looking for squizzers, rabbits, birds, or, well, anything really.
Heaven xx
p.s. as I am writing this, dad has twisted my paw and told me to tell you all that he had a go of a golf putting game in the Jardin Du Sport today and came in the top 10 of the leader board of the game. So (he tells me) that would be the top ten of all time since the game was born!!! I really have no idea what that means, but he keeps smiling and nudging me to tell me, so it must be good! Happy Days x

Centre Parcs Lake
So we are going on our holidays tomorrow, that would be Centre Parcs in Sherwood Forest. I might look calm and collected, but I am giddier than a giddy thing with gids on it!! There will be lots of walks, lots of squizzers and lots of runny babbits for me to mental at. I can sit at the patio doors of our villa for hours on end and it will be brilliant! I will be off the radar whilst we are away, but I will get mum to take lots of pictures and I am keeping a diary, so I will fill you all in when I get back.
So I hope you all have a lovely week and I woof you soon!
love
Peggy

Well this morning, dad took me for a walk in the Watermeadows before breakfast and then after that we all got in the car and started our journey home. I am absolutely shattered! Normally at home I potter around all day on my own, sleeping and sniffing around – generally being a bit lazy for most of the day. However, in Torquay I spent all day, every day running around and having lots of fun. By today I was too tired for words…. I am nearly 10 though you know (which is 70 in human years). So I slept from 10:30am in the car, all the way home and then once we got home, I slept almost solidly till 09:00pm!! I had some tea and went back to bed!
By Sunday though I felt much rested I had a lovely, lovely time and can’t wait to go back and see Phoebe, Toffee and everyone else in sunny Torquay!
