Hello dogbloggers!!! I would love to tell you that I’ve had a razzle dazzle weekend, but actually it’s been quite quiet. That’s not a bad thing, I’m 11 and a half you know!!!!! I went for a gentle 20 minute run with mum on Friday and to be honest, I struggled to keep up a bit
I think I’m a bit out a practice running-wise and last time we saw Anna (my lovely vet) she said I had a touch of arthritis. oh well…
So this weekend has been about dad training for his trail race next weekend, mum training for her 10k in October and me sleeping & making suspicious smells from time to time. he he he.
But this week is going to be ace as mum & dad are only in work for 2 days, but more importantly and MUCH more significantly, my brilliant cousin Lola-Mai starts school on Wednesday….
Good Luck Lola!!! xxxxx Woof Woof xxxxx
So if you were to think about the most superstar, world-class middle and long distance runners, I reckon you would think of Paula Radcliffe and Haile Gebrselassie, but you’d be wrong , very very wrong. The two bestest, wooffiest and fastest runners in the world are MY MUM & DAD!!! (Of course I could kick both their arses in a race, but we will let that go for now
)
My dad has been training SOOOOOO hard as he is taking part in a trail race in the Lake District on the 5th September which is a week on Sunday…. In fact, mum & I even went to surprise him the other week on one of his long runs..we laid in wait with a milky way and a big cheer….
Here I am cheering – I think he was made up:

I always go running with dad & mum in the winter as the weather is cooler and I don’t get too hot. In fact for the Manchester 10k they did in 2009, I trained with them nearly all the time - Woof Woof. You see the thing is too, my dad is a dead good runner and even when he decides not to go out running for a while, he just picks it straight back up and can run 3 miles without even catching his breath - how ace is that?!?!
Anyway, dad’s training starting informally whilst we were on holiday in Anglesey as he went for a run around Cefni Reservoir. But, since then he has STEAMED ahead and been running 3-4 times a week and is now like woofing lightening and as fit as a fiddle (or me). He has had poorly shins and had to cut back slightly at one point, but his ice packs and human medicine has meant he is race fit again and raring to go – I love my dad I do. ♥ So I am sure all you dogbloggers will help me wish him GOOD LUCK for his race which is just over 1 week away and I just hope we can contain our excitement till then…
Before I go though, its only fair to mention that my mum has been training too for a race both her and dad are doing on October 17th. Is a 10k race at Victoria Park in Southport for Cancer Research. She has been using something called MiCoach which she discovered after seeing this advert…
She figured that if it’s good enough for Jess Ennis, then it’s good enough for her. Woof Woof. She seems to be enjoying it too, so good on ya mum!
But dogbloggers, thats enough about them two, back to me……. erm….. I’ve done nowt…..erm….. I had a sleep……twice……erm…..
Night night then. xxxxxxxx
oh dog biscuits, I nearly forgot…. if you would be so lovely as to sponsor my mum to run, I would be very grateful and would give you a very special Peggy lick and I may even give you my paw – just click on this button – thank you xxx

I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry? Tonight, mum & I decided to go for a run after tea and so set off on a lovely evening jog. It started OK although I did try to pull mum over the road a couple of times to get to the grass. In fact mum calls one section of field the “Kamikazi Grass”, as even though we run on the opposite side of the road, I always pull every which way to get across – I don’t really care that there are cars and tarmac in-between
Anyway, back to the run! So we ran the first part on the main road and then down some steps to King George’s park. Mum decided that our run might not be long enough, so she decided to do a lap of the playing field – which would have been fine, except near the end it started spitting for rain. I wasn’t bothered at first and just carried on sniffing and running along with mum, but after about 90 seconds, the heavens opened and it started thundering and lightening!!!
Well we were still about 5 minutes from home and so mum and I had to LEG IT big time as the rain bounced down on soaked our fur right through – Woof Woof. It was quite fun at first and mum couldnt stop laughing, but to be honest, after a couple of minutes, I got woofed off and just wanted to stop and take shelter somewhere. However, mum pulled me along and we both eventually made it home.
As you can see from the picture below, dad had got out of the bath he was in when we left and was chivalrously waiting with towels for us at the front door. Thank woofness for dad. xxxx *shudders*
Wow, aren’t I a lucky doggy!! Dad is at home with me ALL DAY TODAY!!! He is very excited about some game called ModNation Racers and mum said that this is what he is going to do all day today. I don’t care really, as long as he takes me for a walk
Mum is at smelly work so dad and I are hoping that she hurries up and comes home soon. Believe it or not, I am writing this from underneath mum & dad’s bed!!! It’s a special treat for me whilst dad is off. I know it sounds weird, but I actually like it under their bed - I feel all safe, like it’s my own special den.
At the weekend we also have exciting things happening as mum is having her hair straightened and we are going to the Lake District to help celebrate Auntie Jill’s birthday – happy days xxx
Well dogbloggers, have I got something exciting to share with you! I have had a lovely day today as dad and I went out for a gorgeous long walk this morning and I met lots of doggy friends and had a little run around with them all. Then I was tasked with minding the den for a while this afternoon whilst mum & dad went out for a tour of the BBC in Manchester. They loved it and asked me to put these pictures on so you could see what a great time they had.

The tour lasted 2 hours and they got to see the North West Tonight Studios, where the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra Play & Record and BBC Radio Manchester. They also got to see how the weather is made and dad even got to perform in a BBC Radio play!!! Here he is:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
– The radio play is about some people whose car breaks down and they have to go to a house for help. Dad played two parts, the announcer and the butler at the house. His parts are right at the beginning and at about 1:45 in.
They were in very good moods when they got home, so they must have had woofly time. I am shattered just telling you all xx
So how are you all feeling this morning? We only got up today at 11:30!! As it was a special day/night I got the special privilege of sleeping underneath mum & dad’s bed – which is my favorite, Woof Woof! We had a brilliant night last night at Auntie Jill’s and even made a special video for you…
We did have lots of fun and we would like to say thank you to Auntie Jill & Uncle Richard for the lovely hotpot and things they made (mum told me it was lovely, but she wouldnt let me have any
) But as I was with my pack, I didn’t get too frightened of the midnight fireworks and actually, I just went to sleep under Auntie Jill’s stairs…

Ok well, our plan for today was lamb hotpot with Grandma & Grandad Dixon & Gran Prescott. The problem was , that yesterday Grandad Dixon fell over on the ice and so today my mum & dad took him to A&E at Whiston Hospital
Mum said it was FULL of people with similar injuries
It turns out Grandad has a twisted ankle and a suspected fractured knee! He’s got a massive splint & a fracture clinic appointment.
So after all that, mum & dad kept getting stuck on the icy (ungritted) roads, so had to dig a path out of the ice at Grandad Dixons and then again at home..
I know you are wondering where I was during all this – and the short answer is…. ASLEEP!!
Happy Boxing Day Everyone xx
p.s. wanna see the video that mum made of dad on her new video camera??
Hey there dogbloggers – it’s stillsnowy in Haydock! We are all shattered, as we’ve just come back from nearly a two hour walk down to the canal and as usual, we have got lots of things to show you… starting with our walk route… click here for a link to the map.
Secondly, we also did a little video for you at the start of our walk, wanna see?
Third of all, here are our pictures….

We had an amazing time and we are all suitably shattered and having a zzz – well mum & dad are watching Spooks and I am having a zzzzz Woof Woof!
Fourth of all, do you want to see dad juggling snowballs.. he is BRILLIANT!!
and Fifth of all – here is dad’s very brilliant video of birdy footprints….
All in all, a pretty fantastic day so far – I love Christmas, don’t you? xxxx
Can you believe it? It’s actually sunny
I think this is only the second time this month we have had a sunny weekend! So mum & dad have been out this morning to the dreaded B&Q and got that rest of the stuff they needed to finish our new “urban garden”.
Dad has spent this afternoon putting up the rest of the bamboo screening and I have helped mum finish planting the pots!
I have to say it’s looks totally different and mum & dad are dead pleased… But more importantly, does anyone know if I am allowed to wee on the Hebe or Lavendar plants? Do you think mum would shout?
Anyway, I am pooped now so I’m off for a zzzz Blog ya later. Woof Woof!
Hello all, Peggy’s mum Gill here. Just borrowing Peggy’s blog once again to tell you a little about our Manchester 10k training. We are planning to do 4 miles today and this is in keeping with our training plan. Up to now, we have just been doing easy runs and I think we are going to carry on doing this for another week, then we might start on the hill training and tempo runs! Eek! Anyway, just to let you know that we have added a new page to the site which contains the details of our training plan. You can either click on the link Training Plan to the right of this post.
