peggy-chillingHello there dogbloggers how are you this lovely October day? I am pretty good thanks for asking. Everyone here at dog blog has gone back to normal with mum & dad back to work and me back minding the den. We had a lovely time in Ffestiniog and guess what, we are going away again this weekend! Mum & dad have been together 6 years this weekend and we are all going to the Lake District to a hotel called Rusland Pool to celebrate. I am not sure what we are going to do when we get there, but dad is now mad on Geocaching after having such a brill time at Coed y Brenin last week.

We are all quite excited as Auntie Jenny is now over 8 and half months pregnant and we are expecting baby Tilly anytime now – I will keep you posted.

xx

Wow dogbloggers, we are home now after a lovely 5 days away in Wales. We had a brilliant time after a potential disaster when we had to cancel Center Parcs. We had  a lovely cottage, in a beautiful part of the world and a lovely break was had by all. As usual, mum took lots of photos and here they are:

We went to Portmadog shopping in the rain, we went to Harlech beach and had fish & chips and yesterday we went geocaching in Coed y Brenin. We made something brill out of nothing and we now officially LOVE Wales.

But there is no place like home though eh…  mmmmm xx

geocache 11WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!

I have got SO much to tell you I don’t know where to start…. So I’ll start at the beginning.

Well last night we decided (after looking through about 200 leaflets), to visit Coed y Brenin today which looked at bit like where we go at Delamere Forest. However it was SO much better….

When we got there, there was a brilliant visitors centre with a cafe & loos etc. There were paths and trails clearly marked – some for bikers and sone for runners/walkers. We decided to do the “red route” which, like Delamere is a marked path through the forest, denoted by red markers. The route was described as “4 and a half miles – strenuous”, so we thought BRILLIANT!!

We nipped into the visitors centre and were met by a lovely lady who told us they were dog friendly and I was even allowed in the cafe Woof Woof!

Anyway, just as we were leaving, dad spotted a sign that we could go geo-caching around our walk. I had NO idea what this was, but the nice lady gave dad a GPS device and instructions to a sort of orienteering/treasure hunt type thing. Basically the GPS device directed us to 4 hidden “geo-caches” hidden along our walk.

We had a brilliant time and even though we went slightly wrong at the beginning, we found all 4!!! (Mum found 2 and dad found 2).

The scenery was amazing along our way, with a breathtaking waterfall about 3/4 if the way round. It was quite steep and rocky underfoot in places and mum & dad were out of breath – but I LOVED it and didn’t want to stop :-) Overall it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes and according to mums pedometer, she took over 17,000 steps!!

Let me tell you dog bloggers, this is a team Peggy-dog record as it’s the furthest the three of us have ever walked together :-)

When we eventually got back to the visitors centre we were all starving and mum & dad had a baguette and then some cake! I made lots of friends as everyone thought I was gorgeous (as usual) which meant that I got lots of tickles, brilliant.

I’m now shattered and ready for a zzzzz. I’ve earned it I think.

BEST DAY EVER – I love Wales I do xx

Photo 012You know what, whilst sat here in front of the fire in Ffestiniog, I was thinking that I am quite a lucky pup. I realised this as I am nearly eleven years old an have lived with mum & dad in Haydock for 5 and a half years :-) On top of this, I have been on LOADS of holidays with them and here are the ones I can remember:

  • Centre Parcs (Sherwood Forest) x 5
  • Pocklington, near York
  • Torquay
  • Bigbury-on-Sea
  • Penrith
  • Chesterfield
  • Coniston
  • Wrexham
  • Ffestiniog

Phew! I should get dog miles eh xx

BEach 8We’ve been to beach HEY, we’ve been to the beach HEY, la la la la HEY!

Oo I am in a good mood today, no rain and lots of walking – what’s not too like? First off this morning we went to Harlech beach, which is about 12 miles away from where we are staying. Let me tell you dog bloggers, it was just gorgeous :-) :-) I got so excited when I saw the miles of sand that I took off running round and round being giddy. I was so puffed I had to have a sit down towards the end of our walk, but it was brilliant and both mum & dad had a little run with me.

After the beach we went up the wiggliest hill ever to Harlech castle. Now it turns out dogs aren’t allowed in the castle itself (what’s that all about?!) so instead mum, dad & I sat outside a lovely hotel and had fish & chips – yummy….

Guess what happened after that, I had a shop CLOSED so that I could go in and have a look round!! It was the gift shop next to the castle and the owners were so lovely, I even let the lady give me a tickle Woof Woof.

Anyway, we had a lovely wander around and decided that Harlech was magical as around ever corner that was something brilliant… :-)

Home again now for a bit of food and a zzzz excellent

PortmadogRain, rain go away, come again another day – when we’ve gone home!!

Yes, you’ve guessed it, it’s absolutely throwing it down in Ffestiniog and it has been all day :-( We decided to go for a walk anyway this morning, wrongly believing we would be “fine” but we just got drenched! I am only usually ever that wet after a bath, and you know how much I love them… NOT.

So mum dried me off when we came back and then they left me to chill whilst they went into Portmadog. They were back much sooner than I expected as apparently it was raining there too! They said they had lunch, went to Tesco and came home to get dry….

I dunno what they got from Tesco but something smells fab in the kitchen… Chicken maybe…. no… LAMB, I think it’s LAMB!! Woof Woof!

Obsessed by food, me, no never, well maybe just an ickle bit xxx

p.s. mum says if it’s nice tomorrow, maybe we’ll go to the beach?! Yipee x

p.p.s. the pic is my dad in Portmadog after his lovely turkey sandwich for lunch. It must have been lovely-he looks WELL happy

cottage 10Hello all from a very balmy Ffestiniog in Wales. We’ve had a lovely start to our “hollibobs” as mum calls them, as our journey here was very straight forward and the sun is out in October would you believe!

Actually on our way here, we stopped for lunch at a brilliant organic farm shop -cum-cafe and mum & dad had a sausage burger each. I was a bit miffed not to get any, but dad gave me some of the cookie they had after – so I stopped sulking :p

Our holiday cottage is about half a mile outside Ffestiniog itself and it really cosy with stunning views (see pic).

When we got here we settled in and went for a walk down the hill to a beautiful river and waterfall..Woof Woof!! The owner of our cottage keeps Shetland Ponies & chickens and I was dead good and just made friends with them, I didn’t do chasing or eating or ANYTHING – honest ;-)

We were all puffed when got back as it’s all uphill, but we had our tea and watched “Lie to Me” on DVD (what’s one of those then?).

I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
Love Peggy x
