image1632721038.jpgAs I write this we are travelling through Birmingham on our way back to Haydock. Dad is driving, mum is depressed and I am struggling to stay awake (as usual).

We have had a lovely, lovely time and really didn’t want to come back :-( but we may visit again and we have always got Centre Parcs to look forward to in September! X

If you wanted to see what happened to mum, dad and I during our time in Bigbury on Sea, why not have a look-see at my blog, starting with Day 1!

Also if you want to see our photos, click on this link…. they are ACES!!

Photo 051 It’s our last day :-( but Mum has banned all depression until 21:00 tonight, she says that we shouldn’t let our fedupness of it being the last day, ruin the last day. So we  haven’t!!!

What we actually did was have a long walk on the beach (heaven) followed by a walk up to the top of Burgh Island again (brilliant) and a pub lunch at the Pilchard Inn (aceness). Is there anything better than sitting outside a pub on a beautiful small island off the coast of Devon, eating lunch and enjoying the stunning view? It is something that we will remember for a very long time.

So after all that, we had a little shop at the Beach Gift shop (one of only 2 shops in the whole of Bigbury on Sea), and then we came home. I will tell you something though, Bigbury is VERY hilly and you have to be fairly fit to live here. I am of course at an immediate advantage as I have “four wheel drive” as mum calls it, but even I get out of puff from time to time. Woof Woof!!

So our plans for this evening include a bit of going home packing up, tea, a last walk on the beach and then the Big Brother Eviction…..*shakes head* Mum doesn’t half watch some cr*p on the TV – how on earth dad puts up with it, I will never know.

Well, I need a wee wee, so I am going to give mum the magic face so that she knows to let me out… it works for us!! xx

p.s. here is the video that mum did of our last walk on the beach…

Fish & Chips Phew… I am one tired little doggie this evening…. I am pooped from all the walking. I’ll have to remember that I am 10½ now and can’t do quite as much as I used to.  So then, what have I been up to today? Well this morning we went for our usual walk on the beach and I ran around sniffing and playing with mum & dad. Mum got her feet (and shoes) really wet when she tried to run around a rock and beat the tide…. she didn’t make it and got wet feet ;-)

Then I had some alone time in the den as mum & dad went to Kingsbridge for a look around and apparently they had a fine old time and even had fish & chips for lunch.

When they came back mum & dad had a little chill and then we all went for a walk across the sand to Burgh Island. It was SPECTACULAR!! to say the very least. I wish we could build a house up there are stay forever. I had to be careful though on the way up and down the hill as some of the drops by the side of the path were sheer and I get a bit giddy sometimes.

Anyway, mum did some videos to show you how lovely it is and how stunning Burgh Island is… Enjoy xx

Hi there dog bloggers and Woof Woof from the seaside. We have woken up this
morning to gloriuous sunshine and what else is there to but to go for a
walk on the beach before breakfast. We were out for about an hour and had a
brilliant time legging it around the beach, meeting other dogs sniffing
everything we walked passed. When I say “we” I do of course just mean me…
mum & dad just walking along behind me – shouting me back now and then for
cuddles.
I think the plan for the rest of the day is to have a walk along one of the
coastal paths then chicken for tea… mmmm two of my favourite things in
the world.
Mum & dad have been talking about what else we might do whilst we are here,
and some of the plans so far are:
A trip to Burgh Island
A pub lunch
A trip to Datmoor Zoo
A trip to Darts Farm
Wooppeeeeeee xxxx

Mum had no shoes on, on the beach so me and her had a little paddle… but the water was FREEZING!!! So it will be the last time I do that! ;-) Maybe…

Well we made it, we are here, alive and kicking in Bigbury-on-Sea! The journey to be honest was very very long and it wasn’t made any shorter when we got stuck in traffic for a hour and half around 8 miles from home. But after a short, heated “exchange of words” and a small insulting of the Tom Tom we were on our way again. After a couple of short stops en-route, we eventually got here at 16:40.
The apartment we have rented is small and cosy with the most tremendous sea view we have ever seen – equally as good as “Cliff Lodge” Last year. The Weather was warm but a little misty when we got here, but it cleared later and dad, mum & I all went for a walk on the beach….. bliss.
So when we got back we had our tea and just chilled out before we settled down for a well deserved kip after such a long day. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
p.s. do you like mum’s holiday hat?

Share photos on twitter with TwitpicWhat a lazy day I have had today with Mum… she has been working from home today and I have been making hanging out with her. She didn’t feel very well this morning so I was really good and left her alone for a bit, but she felt much better by lunchtime so I was allowed in the living room with her.

This afternoon she has been working hard and steam has been coming off her fingers on the laptop…. she must be tired! If MY paws had to do that much typing I think they might drop off :-)

It’s not long now until we go on our holidays to Bigbury-on-Sea and even though we have never been before, I am sure it will be fantastic. It’s just mum, dad and I going which means we have have lots of dog walks, ice creams and lazy days…. we won’t be too bothered if it rains, but hopefully it will be a little bit sunny.
