Mum's Audioboos

Good Morning dogbloggers, just a note to ask you to bear with us whilst my mum does some maintenance on my blog. I have no idea what she is doing, but it does mean that dog blog might look a bit different from time to time, things might go missing or we might disappear completely – but never fear – normal service will resume soon.

So how are you? Any news? xxxx

Dear me dogbloggers, I don’t know where to start….actually I do… I have been at Grandma & Grandad’s all day today as mum & dad have been to London to visit the queens kennel (called Buckingham Palace). Grandad took them to the station and apparently (even though they were separated from me nearly ALL DAY!!!) they had a great time in the palace and in the park.

I myself was a bit nervous and unsettled at Grandma & Grandads, but I just followed them around all day listened out for mum & dad coming back. But the good thing was that I got lots of cuddles and treats all day and even got to go for a walk with Uncle Geoffrey  – Woof Woof ♥

Anyway, I am home again now and even though I loved visiting today, I love my own pad – it just smells nice (cause it smells like me!!)

Well aren’t I a happy puppy today – mum is at home…. Today is the day that she goes to the dentist that makes her all squiffy, so she is just chilling with me until it’s time to go. She doesn’t seem too nervous, although with her being fast asleep for the whole thing, I’m not surprised. :-) Dad had a good night last night too as Liverpool won a football match and apparently their new manager seemed pleased that Liverpool scored a goal for the first time in 6 years – no… I don’t know either.

Well, I had better go and see what mum wants to do before she has to go out, do you think there is any chance she will want to cook me a chicken and take me out for a massive walk???

Love Peggy xx

p.s. here is a photo of my cousin Tilly Rose. My mum baby sat for her and Lola last night and poor Tilly cried for most of the time as she isn’t very well…

Well, guess what mum has just told me? I am going to Grandma & Grandad Dixon’s for the day on Sunday (8th August) as my mum & dad are going to London to see the Queen!!! Apparently the Queen lives in a really historic and beautiful palace (which I think is human for posh kennel) and it’s only open to the pups and public for a month every year. So…. mum & dad are off on the train to visit and possibly see the Queen’s corgis. How exciting!!!

So I will be going to Grandma & Grandad’s as otherwise I would be on my own for far too long in one day and would no doubt be starving and bursting for a wee wee :-( But how much FUN will be it running and sniffing in their garden…… they have got grass and everything!! I am VERY excited….. Woof Woof.

Also, before any of that, mum is going to the dentist on Friday and this is the one where the dentist makes her all sleepy and she comes home looking a little drunk and tired…. Do you remember last year? Sheesh xxx

Canines of the countryside unite! Dogs get their own pub ‘pawtions’ as Butcher’s teams up with Brakspear

Butcher’s Pet Care is starting a pub food revolution to celebrate the launch of its new chunks varieties with pub company Brakspear – but only if you’ve got four legs.

The iconic family-owned pet food company has teamed up with the gastropub chain to offer a ‘doggy menu’ in pubs to mark the launch of its new chunks varieties. From 23 July, two Brakspear pubs will offer pub-goers’ canine companions a selection from Butcher’s new ‘Meaty feasts’ chunks in gravy recipes and ‘Special Fayre’ chunks in jelly range.

The pubs involved are the Five Alls near Lechlade, Gloucestershire and the Catherine Wheel in Goring-on-Thames, Berkshire – both of which are popular with dog walkers taking advantage of the pubs’ dog-friendly policy after enjoying a walk in the countryside.

The ‘doggy menu’ will be offered alongside the gastopubs’ human one, giving family hounds the chance to chomp when their owners sit down for a meal. The food will be served in specially-made Butcher’s branded bowls and dogs will be able to take their pick from nutritious meals such as mouth watering ‘Liver & Garden Veg’ chunks in gravy and ‘Chicken & Beef’ chunks in jelly.

Butcher’s and Brakspear believe that after a long walk it’s not just humans who will have built up a hearty appetite, our four legged friends will have as well. They also deserve the chance to relax and enjoy a hearty meal to refuel.

Once dogs have got a taste for Butcher’s new chunks in jelly and chunks in gravy recipes their owners can pick them up as newly-designed six-can multipacks in their local supermarket.

With its famous slogan ‘Fit as a Butcher’s Dog’, which has featured on its packaging for nearly a quarter of a century, Butcher’s is a British family company with roots in farming and a strong heritage in pet nutrition and meat expertise.

Caroline Coombs, Brand manager at Butcher’s Pet Care said: “A family walk is a great way to strengthen that special emotional connection with your dog and stopping off at a country pub to enjoy a drink and bite to eat is a great British summer institution. Now dog owners can sit down to lunch happy in the knowledge their dog is enjoying their meal as much as they are. We’ve built our business on feeding generations of family dogs and all our recipes are naturally nutritious and contain all of the vitamins and minerals your dog needs to keep him healthy, happy and fit as a Butcher’s dog.”

Tom Davies, Brakspear’s commercial director, said, “Many of our pubs are located near popular walking routes and attract customers out to enjoy the countryside with their four-legged companions. For many dog-owners, being able to source a meal in the pub for their pet as well as for themselves will be an attractive option and we’re pleased to be offering the Butcher’s meals, which we hope will be a further boost to the dog-friendly reputation of our pubs.”

The new Butcher’s ranges will be stocked by all major supermarkets.

Oh Dogbloggers, I am very very tired as today I have completed my  very first Cancer Research Race for Life at Haydock Park Racecourse. My mum does at least one every year in memory of her Grandad Prescott and her Gran Dixon who she lost to cancer in 2004 and 1997 respectively. :-(

However, today was even more special as Mum, Grandma Dixon, Auntie Susan, Megan, Auntie Alison and I all did the fill course and Auntie Jenny, Lola & Tilly all did the first 1k. How BRILLIANT is that?!? Also, Grandad Dixon, Great Grandma Prescott, Mark, Shelly,Uncle Patrick, Grandma Barbara & Grandad Wack ALL came to see us  – I was REALLY WOOFED!!!!

There is always an amazing atmostphere and nearly 2,00 ladies took part. At the beginning all the participants are sorted into Runners, Joggers, Walkers & Pushchairs…. we went with the pushchairs and were actually one of the very last walkers to set off. However we hurried up and managed to over take quite a few people. Lola & Tilly & Auntie Jenny also set off with us as Lola wasn’t sure if she wanted to walk, but they decided to just to a small walk at the beginning as Lola only has little legs and probably couldnt make it the whole way round (which is 5k or 3.2 miles).

Mum wore a tutu and we all had a right good gossip as we passed each kilometre marker. The official clock said we finished in around 01:09:00, but we think that the clock was already on about 6 minutes when we started, so we reckon we did it in 01:03:00…. who cares though… it was amazing and mum and I really enjoyed walking together. :-)
Look at this cool video of us starting!!!

After the race, I came back to the den for a zzz and mum & dad went to Bents garden centre for lunch. But dogbloggers, the fun didn’t stop there and dad decided to go out for his 8 mile run when we got back and GUESS what mum and I did……

We jumped in the car to meet him twice along the route to cheer him on and give him a milk way…. he was really chuffed….. GO DAD!!!!!!

So, I think it might be time to completley chill out as I feel as if my little paws have been red hot all day with all the running around….. I did LOVE it though… xxxxx

So apparently mum and dad have been out today again and I wasn’t invited *sulks*….. However mum & dad look quite good when they have a wash and comb their fur and mum said that food was awesome!!! They went to The  River Restaurant in Salford and they must have had a good time as they came back all smiley!

I have a couple of questions though….

  1. What’s a restaurant?
  2. What’s a wash?
  3. Where the woof is Salford???

Anyway, here are the photos – I don’t know about you, I still think my Natures Choice Dog Food is pretty good and I don’t have to go all the way to Salford (where?). Woof Woof. xx

I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry? Tonight, mum & I decided to go for a run after tea and so set off on a lovely evening jog. It started OK although I did try to pull mum over the road a couple of times to get to the grass. In fact mum calls one section of field the “Kamikazi  Grass”, as even though we run on the opposite side of the road, I always pull every which way to get across  – I don’t really care that there are cars and tarmac in-between :-)

Anyway, back to the run! So we ran the first part on the main road and then down some steps to King George’s park. Mum decided that our run might not be long enough, so she decided to do a lap of the playing field – which would have been fine, except near the end it started spitting for rain. I wasn’t bothered at first and just carried on sniffing and running along with mum, but after about 90 seconds, the heavens opened and it started thundering and lightening!!!

Well we were still about 5 minutes from home and so mum and I had to LEG IT big time as the rain bounced down on soaked our fur right through – Woof Woof. It was quite fun at first and mum couldnt stop laughing, but to be honest, after a couple of minutes, I got woofed off and just wanted to stop and take shelter somewhere. However, mum pulled me along and we both eventually made it home.

As you can see from the picture below, dad had got out of the bath he was in when we left and was chivalrously waiting with towels for us at the front door. Thank woofness for dad. xxxx *shudders*

Well today has been ace as mum, dad and I all went on our coke and crunchie walk. Well we tried to, but it started raining after about half an hour through so we had to turn back.

But it was SO cool to be out with the pack and I was so excited at home when mum got the lead out that I knocked my own food bowl over – Woof Woof.

Also today is a special day as it’s Grandad Wack’s birthday :-) and we are all going round to his house for an indoor barbecue. I can’t wait…. xxx

So last night I was allowed upstairs in the den. Normally there is NO chance that I am even allowed anywhere near the stairs as apparently I shed hair and scratch things – (whatever *pulls tongue out*)

So, what was I woofing about? Oh yes, upstairs… I was allowed!!! Wanna see?
